The Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC) has announced a recruitment drive for 53 Insect Collector (Keet Sangrahakarta) positions. The application process began on February 5, 2025, and will conclude on March 5, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed Intermediate (10+2) in Science from a recognized board.
  • Age Limit (as of August 1, 2024):
    • Minimum Age: 18 years
    • Maximum Age:
      • UR (Male): 37 years
      • UR (Female) and BC/EBC (Male & Female): 40 years
      • SC/ST (Male & Female): 42 years
    • Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms.

Application Fee:

  • UR/BC/EBC/EWS: ₹600
  • SC/ST/PwD/Female (Bihar Domicile): ₹150
  • Candidates from Other States: ₹600

Fees can be paid online through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

Selection Process:

  1. Written Examination: An Intermediate (Science) level competitive exam comprising 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for 100 marks.
    • Subjects Covered:
      • Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics: 50 questions
      • Biology: 50 questions
    • Marking Scheme:
      • +1 mark for each correct answer
      • -0.25 marks for each incorrect answer
    • Duration: 2 hours
    • Qualifying Marks:
      • UR: 40%
      • BC: 36.5%
      • EBC: 34%
      • SC/ST/PwD/Women: 32%
  2. Counseling and Document Verification: Candidates who qualify in the written exam will be called for counseling and document verification.

Salary:

  • Pay Scale: ₹5,200 – ₹20,200
  • Grade Pay: ₹1,800
  • Pay Level: Level-1
