SSC GD Constable 2026 Notification: 25487 Posts

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the SSC GD Constable 2026 Notification on 01 December 2025. This is one of the biggest recruitment drives for 10th-pass candidates aspiring to join Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF, Assam Rifles (AR), and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau.

A total of 25,487 vacancies have been announced for the post of Constable (General Duty) and Rifleman (GD). The online application window is now open at ssc.gov.in.

Selection Process

  1. Computer Based Examination (CBE) – Objective type
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Running/Timing
  3. Physical Standard Test (PST) – Height/Chest/Weight
  4. Detailed Medical Examination (DME)/Review Medical Examination (RME)
  5. Document Verification

Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of CBE marks + Force preference + qualifying PET/PST/Medical.

How to Apply Online for SSC GD Constable 2026

  1. Visit ssc.gov.in
  2. Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) (new OTR required even if you had old one)
  3. Login → Apply → ‘Constable (GD) in CAPFs, SSF, Rifleman (GD) in AR Examination, 2026’
  4. Fill details, choose exam centres, upload photo & signature
  5. Pay fee (if applicable) → Submit
  6. Save/print application form

Important: Fill the State/UT of Domicile very carefully – no change allowed later.

Important Points from Official Notification

  • 10% vacancies reserved for Ex-Servicemen (ESM)
  • NCC Certificate holders get bonus marks (2%–5% of maximum marks)
  • Candidates must produce Domicile/PRC of the State/UT filled in application at DME stage
  • Vacancies are State/UT-wise (except SSF which is All-India basis)
  • Special provisions for Border Guarding & Naxal/Militancy affected districts
  • No waiting/reserve list will be maintained after final result

Salary & Benefits

  • Basic Pay: ₹21,700 – ₹69,100 (Level-3)
  • Gross Salary (initial): ₹25,000 – ₹35,000 per month (including allowances)

  • Practice previous year papers & mock tests daily
  • Focus on Current Affairs (last 6–8 months)
  • Begin physical training – 5 km run (male), 1.6 km (female)
