RRC South Eastern Railway Act Apprentice Recruitment 2025-26: 1785 Posts

Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), South Eastern Railway has released the official centralized notification for engagement of 1785 Act Apprentices for the training year 2025-26 under the Apprentices Act 1961. This is one of the biggest apprentice recruitment drives in Indian Railways this year.

Eligibility Criteria (As per Official Notification)

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)

  • Minimum: 15 years
  • Maximum: 24 years
  • Relaxation: SC/ST → 5 years | OBC → 3 years | PwD → 10 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: Up to extent of service + 3 years (minimum 6 months service required)

Educational Qualification

  • Passed Matriculation (10th) in 10+2 system with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (excluding additional subjects) from recognized board
  • ITI Pass in the relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT

Application Fee

  • General/OBC/EWS: ₹100/- (non-refundable)
  • SC/ST/PwD/Women: Exempted

Selection Process – 100% Merit Based (No Exam)

  1. Merit list prepared trade-wise & unit-wise on the basis of percentage of marks in Matriculation (minimum 50% aggregate required)
  2. In case of tie: Older candidate → Earlier matric pass year
  3. Shortlisting for Document Verification: 1.5 times the number of vacancies
  4. Final merit list = number of slots
  5. Medical Examination (as per Annexure-II)

Stipend During Training

Stipend will be paid as per extant rules of Apprentices Act 1961 (rate revised from time to time). Currently ranges between ₹7,000 – ₹8,000+ per month depending on the period of training.
