Eligibility Criteria for NIOT Apprentice Recruitment 2025
To apply, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Qualification:
- For Technician Apprentices: Diploma in Engineering/Technology in the relevant discipline from a recognized State Council/Board/University.
- For Graduate Apprentices: Full-time Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university.
- Candidates must have passed their qualifying exam in 2023, 2024, or 2025.
- Other Requirements:
- Must be registered on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal: https://nats.education.gov.in/.
- No prior apprenticeship training or work experience of one year or more.
- Age Limit (as on October 27, 2025):
- Technician Apprentices: 18–24 years.
- Graduate Apprentices: 21–26 years.
- Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and up to 10 years for PWD (additional for reserved categories).
Ensure your certificates are from government-recognized institutions; private certifications won’t be accepted.
Stipend and Training Duration
Selected apprentices will receive:
- Technician Apprentices: ₹12,000 per month (including ₹4,000 from government via DBT).
- Graduate Apprentices: ₹13,000 per month (including ₹4,500 from government via DBT).
The apprenticeship duration is 1 year, during which you’ll work on real-world projects at NIOT’s Chennai headquarters or field units in Andhra Pradesh.
Selection Process
The selection is through a walk-in interview. If applications exceed expectations, shortlisting may occur based on academic merit or other criteria set by the committee. Upon completion, you’ll receive a National Apprenticeship Certificate from the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT).
