The Meghalaya Education Recruitment Board (MERB) has announced a recruitment drive for 119 Assistant Professor and Lecturer positions across various government colleges in the state.

The subject-wise distribution of vacancies is as follows:

  • English: 18 positions
  • Khasi: 9 positions
  • Political Science: 9 positions
  • Education: 9 positions
  • Garo: 10 positions
  • History: 19 positions
  • Economics: 10 positions
  • Philosophy: 7 positions
  • Geography: 6 positions
  • Sociology: 4 positions
  • Physics: 2 positions
  • Botany: 3 positions
  • Zoology: 4 positions
  • Commerce: 6 positions
  • Mathematics: 1 position
  • Chemistry: 2 positions

Important Dates:

  • Application Start Date: January 27, 2025
  • Application Deadline: February 27, 2025, by 11:59 PM

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess a Master’s degree in the relevant subject. A Ph.D. is also desirable.
  • Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 32 years as of January 1, 2025. There is a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Interested candidates must apply online through the official recruitment portal: https://megrecruitment.nic.in. Applications submitted through other means will not be accepted.

Application Fee:

  • General Candidates: ₹460
  • SC/ST Candidates of Meghalaya: ₹230

The application fee should be paid online during the application process.

Selection Process:

Candidates will be selected based on their performance in an interview.
