The Odisha Police Recruitment Board has announced a recruitment drive for 2025, aiming to fill 933 vacancies for Sub-Inspector (SI) and equivalent positions.
Vacancy Details:
- Sub-Inspector of Police: 609 positions
- Sub-Inspector of Police (Armed): 253 positions
- Station Officer (Fire Service): 47 positions
- Assistant Jailor: 24 positions

- Application End Date: February 10, 2025
Eligibility Criteria:
- Age Limit (as of January 1, 2024):
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 25 years
- Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC, ST, SEBC, and Women candidates. For ex-servicemen, the entire period of service rendered in defense will be deducted from the actual age, and the resultant age should not exceed the maximum age limit by more than 3 years.
- Educational Qualifications:
- Sub-Inspector of Police & Sub-Inspector of Police (Armed): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Station Officer (Fire Service): Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering from a recognized university.
- Assistant Jailor: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

- Click on the “Apply Online” link.
- Complete the registration process by providing the required details.
- Upload the necessary documents, including educational certificates, identification proof, and a recent passport-sized photograph.
- Submit the application form and take a printout for future reference.
Selection Process:
- Written Examination: OMR-based test covering various subjects relevant to the position.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Qualifying in nature, assessing physical fitness through various tasks.
- Physical Standard Test (PST): Measurement of physical standards like height, weight, and chest measurements.
Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be shortlisted for the PET and PST based on merit. The final selection will be based on the combined performance in all stages.
